- Loading long loads onto trailers using a forklift
- Ensuring loads are distributed and secured to comply with limits of trucks and trailers
- Coordinate with drivers to ensure compliance with load weights and volume with prime movers and trailers
- Ensure loads are tied down and organized for safe and efficient unloading per the route schedule drops
- Unloading inbound steel coil
- Loading production machines with material (steel coil)
- Staging and planning the loading of trucks as required
- Reporting and recording any safety or maintenance issues with plant and equipment including forklifts, cranes, racks, etc.
- Liaising with other members of transport and production teams
Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge - Forklift license (mandatory)
- Previous Loading experience with long loads (not palletised freight)
- 1-3 years experience in warehousing/loading operations
- Demonstrated ability to plan and load bulk materials
- Knowledge of ERP systems, order entry, truck system inventory
- Knowledge of how to operate and record data including barcode scanners
- Ability to handle, manage, and move long lengths/packs of steel material and products
