My client has been in business for over 40 years and they are seeking a technically minded and mechanically capable individual to join their team as a
Technical Sales Specialist, supporting their range of davit arms, winches, hoists and associated lifting equipment.
This is a hands-on, technically focused sales role rather than a purely sales-driven position. The successful candidate will be responsible for understanding our equipment, assisting customers with technical queries, troubleshooting issues, attending customer sites and developing practical solutions to meet their requirements. The role will also involve identifying new business opportunities and building strong, long-term customer relationships.
Ideally, you will have a
trade, mechanical, industrial or technical background and be confident working both hands-on in the field and directly with customers. You will be someone who enjoys problem-solving, has strong technical aptitude and can translate customer requirements into effective equipment solutions.
Skills/Abilities:
- Mechanically minded with a strong understanding of mechanical equipment, systems and how they operate.
- A practical and resourceful problem solver who enjoys diagnosing issues and developing effective solutions.
- Hands-on and confident working with a range of mechanical equipment and lifting systems.
- Comfortable attending customer sites, assessing equipment and troubleshooting issues in the field.
- Able to explain technical information clearly and confidently to customers, adapting communication to suit their level of understanding.
- Customer-focused, with the ability to build strong, professional and long-term customer relationships.
- Commercially minded and keen to develop their sales skills, identify opportunities and contribute to business growth.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently, taking ownership of customer enquiries, technical issues and follow-up.
- Comfortable working across both technical support and sales, with the flexibility to balance hands-on problem-solving with customer and commercial responsibilities.
