Senior Diesel/Heavy Vehicle Mechanic
The Opportunity: With decades of experience and expertise, our client is a well-established provider of diesel power solutions to a diverse range of customers. Due to continued growth, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanic to join their friendly team in Minchinbury.
This is a hands-on role that will see you performing servicing and repairs both in the workshop and in the field, often liaising directly with customers and suppliers. You will work on a large range of diesel-powered plant, equipment, and vehicles, and will use your mechanical experience, excellent customer service skills, and unparalleled attention to detail to excel in your role.
Key Responsibilities: - Diagnosing faults and performing servicing and repairs on a range of diesel-powered plant and equipment
- Attending to breakdowns, servicing, and repairs in the field using a well-equipped field service vehicle
- Quoting customers and maintaining detailed and accurate written and digital records
- Providing guidance and support to other team members as necessary
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
We’re looking for: - Relevant Diesel, Heavy Vehicle, or Plant Mechanic Cert III qualifications with at least 3-5 years experience in the field
- Current unrestricted Australian driver’s licence with the ability to drive a manual
- A current LF forklift ticket
- Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills on diesel engines, with a good understanding of fuel injection and hydraulics
- Superior communication and customer service skills
- An eye for detail with reasonable computer skills
- Strong time management skills and a good level of physical fitness
- Experience leading small teams is a definite advantage
